The Musical Theatre Factory

Summer 2011

I cant believe it’s another year!

I’ve been looking back on the amazing work we achieved last Summer. ‘The Stepford Kids’ in both Henley and Woodford was hysterically funny and featured some great performances. ‘Glee’ was the first time we ran a scripted workshop in Henley and the first time at the Deaton Theatre for Woodford. Both went incredibly well.

Now this years workshops – ‘Blame it on the Boogie’ and ‘We Will Rock You’ both feature some great tracks and promise to be big hits their own right.

We also have some additions to our creative team – Keeley East (Choreographer) and Barry Potts (Musical Director for WWRY). They work closely with me at Performers College and bring a huge amount of experience, talent and above all energy to get the best out of every student.

This is going to be a great Summer. See you there!

Nice things

Last week I was busy sorting out stuff for the upcoming workshop when I came across an email from Mandy Beard at Henley Festival. There was some lovely feedback about our Easter Workshop from one of the mums. In our rush to sort out new stuff I'd forgotten how much the kids get from being creative

I quote - "he could not wait to get there each morning and came home full of enthusiasm each night. I am in high regard of anyone who can motivate my son away from his computer in the holidays! The show was amazing"

Although we are just doing our job, and we love doing our job, it's great to hear that others love it too. See you in the Summer!

Coming Soon - 2010

Hi Everyone

We're gearing up for another Summer of workshops. New Year. New Website. New ideas.

We have some great songs and stories for the 8-13 group. Featuring songs from Michael Jackson, Black Eyed Peas and Glee. It's a fun storyline about sinister bunch of supply teachers who arrive one day to sort out a school in trouble. They do so but at what cost?

Plus for the older ones (13-18) a brand new specially commissioned musical using the songs from Glee! This is our more advanced workshop, longer days, more challenging but more exciting as we perform the finished show in the Deaton Theatre for family and friends. Ask for details of the auditions

Do let us know what you think of the new website layout or share any thoughts you have about what we do and are doing.

Oh and don't forget to book your place! It's always busy.

Debbie
